After Your NZeTA Is Approved

Once your New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) has been approved, you will receive a confirmation email. Your approval includes an NZeTA reference number, and your NZeTA is electronically linked to the passport used in your application.

It is important to enter your passport details accurately when applying. If incorrect passport information is provided, your NZeTA may not be linked to the passport you present when travelling. This could result in boarding being refused or delays to your journey.

If you discover an error in your passport details, you may be able to request a correction to your NZeTA or, in some cases, you may need to submit a new NZeTA application. Ensure any required changes are completed, and your travel authorisation is valid before your scheduled departure.

Because your NZeTA is stored electronically, you do not need to carry a printed approval or any physical travel authorisation. However, it is recommended that you keep your approval email accessible during your journey.

When checking in for your flight, you must present the same passport that was used to apply for your NZeTA. Your airline will verify your travel authorisation electronically through New Zealand Immigration's system before allowing you to board.

If a valid NZeTA cannot be matched to your passport, the airline may refuse boarding until the correct travel authorisation is in place.
